What a fun and divinely gorgeous coin pearl bracelet featuring beautifully hued, high luster coin pearls. This bracelet matches our amazing Coin Pearl Necklace and the super cute Single Coin Pearl Necklace. Plus these are coin pearls! Which makes them so amazing!! Do you know how the inside of shells look so beautiful with almost a rainbow like iridescence? This iridescence is because of the way the light plays on the flat mother of pearl surface. It gives it an extra sort of glow to the mother of pearl. This same glow is found in these cultured coin pearls. Which, for one, makes them almost impossible to photograph! They have such high luster and such a play of colors on their white surface, these colors tend to pop in the lens. So, although we have some photos here, seeing is truly believing when it comes to these amazing gems!! Come to our shop to see them or order online! You will LOVE them!

The coin pearls in this Coin Pearl Bracelet are a perfect size! They measure between 10 and 12mm in diameter. Besides the amazing luster and color, it appears as if the pearl nacre has been dripped over the surface of these coin pearls. I love that they are not all even and perfect. They are pearls! And they bask in their beautifully organic nature!

Now, many of you have come to see me at The Pearl Girls shop have asked, how exactly do we get this shape of a pearl. A coin pearl has a disc like shape… just like a coin! The mollusk is actually nucleated with a bead shaped like a disk so the pearl is formed on top of this disk making the pearl disk shaped! Did you know, in saltwater pearl productions, the oysters are nucleated with a round mother of pearl bead? This helps to form round pearls. It is like working with a template! Way back when, all different shapes of pearls were fashionable so pearl farmers would play around with different shapes of pearls. These shapes went in and out of fashion but the coin pearl is here to stay. People remain captivated by this gorgeous gem and its unparalleled luster.

Go Dawgs! In honor of Homecoming this coming weekend and our love for the Georgia Bulldogs, The Pearl Girls are excited to launch the Athena Bracelet. This amazing bracelet is a variation of our ever-popular Game Day Bracelets. This gorgeous and easy to wear stretch bracelet features large (9mm) genuine, cultured pearls, two red beads, two black beads and finished off with a sparkly, blingy crystal bead. Our office Manager, Tara, asked Judi to make one for her mom, Tammy. And we all fell in LOVE with it!

Get Pretty in these Pretty Pearl Earrings by The Pearl Girls. Inspired by Julia Robert’s character, Vivian Ward, in Pretty Woman and by our own customer’s request to create a similar design, we created The Pearl Girls own Pretty Pearl Earrings. These earrings are so amazing! We went for the upgrade with these, creating them in 14K gold with large, genuine cultured pearls.

For those of you who prefer a smaller pearl, you also have the option of ordering these in medium pearls. Please allow 2 weeks for delivery!

These 14K gold pretty pearl earrings feature a 3mm gold ball and they drop into the round pearl. These are so refined and lovely!

Ha Long Bay – Vietnam 2019

The Traveling Pearls are off again! This year, it’s Vietnam! Come visit a Vietnam Pearl farm with us!

Ha Long Bay, Vietnam, Farmer fertilizing oysters to grow pearls

I am thrilled to see the amazing city of Hanoi, enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of this amazing city before embarking on a 2 night boat tour of Ha Long Bay which will take us to our Vietnamese Akoya Pearl farm!

We will travel around the first of June. tentative dates are May 29th – June 5th. We will leave from San Francisco or Atlanta and fly to Hanoi, arriving Thursday, May 30th. Friday and Saturday we will explore Hanoi. Sunday we will ride east and board our boat on Ha Long Bay. We will ride our own 10 bedroom boat for two nights on Ha Long bay, swimming, snorkeling and visiting the pearl farm. Tuesday we will return to Hanoi for any last minute shopping before we fly back to the U.S. on Wednesday.

The pearls of Vietnam are small saltwater Akoya pearls similar to the pearls that come from Japan.

A specialist is inserting a nucleus bead into an oyster at an oyser farm at Halong bay, Vietnam.

I will be developing more details as we approach trip time. This trip is limited to 10 people so get your deposit in soon to secure your spot! Based on the current economy flight schedules, the trip will be $5000 each with flights from San Francisco and $5250 with flights from Atlanta. Please note the following deposits.

We love hearing from you amazing Pearl Girls! What you like, what you don’t like and what you want more of! Thank you for making us a better cultured pearl jewelry company! When many of you starting asking for more pearls in our leather and pearl designs, we created custom pieces just for you. (Hey, we are a custom pearl jewelry company – Made in the USA – so we can easily create exactly what you want! ) but we soon realized many more of you would love this design, too! So, we have upgraded our Cascade Necklace from 4 pearls to 12! Meet our Dozen Pearl Necklace! Still an amazing adjustable design crafted with beautiful Greek leather and genuine freshwater cultured pearls but this time with even MORE pearls… a dozen to be exact!

These pieces feature pearls from our favorite spot in China… a pearl farm in Zhuji. This big pearl ring starts with a gorgeous, large white cultured pearl. We set this beautiful pearl in a pearl cup of 14K gold fill. Then we will add it to a custom designed band. Next, lets talk size! How big or small would you like your ring to be? I understand that you may not know your ring size! Pop into a local jewelry store or order a ring sizer online to measure your preferred finger!

Through our reknot and repair department, we work to replace a lot of pearls that fall out of rings. Customers bring pearl rings to us from a variety of different jewelry sellers. And what happens if the pearl falls out of their rings? These jewelry chains cannot fix the ring! (Pssst… order a Jewelry Return Kit if you have a pearl ring that needs repair!) Most of our customers tell us the only solution other jewelers have is to replace the entire ring. This is because they do not create jewelry in-house like we do at The Pearl Girls.

This month we are opening an oyster for Project Safe! Our Pearls for Project Safe Fundraiser will take place Saturday, January 27th from 10AM to 2PM. Open and Oyster and Find Your Pearl! Project Safe aims to reduce incidents of domestic violence and increase victims’ access to safety and justice through a variety of services. In an effort to support their ongoing services, we are inviting customers to come by The Pearl Girls. For $10 you can pick your own oyster, open it and discover what pearl is hidden inside! All oysters come with a mixed metal necklace or you can upgrade to a ring (Artist Sylvia Dawe will be on hand making rings!) or put your pearl on a sterling silver chain. (There will be an added cost to upgrade your setting). ALL PROFITS WILL GO TO PROJECT SAFE!! Woo hoo! We are so excited!

I am so in love with The Pearl Girls newest creation, the Wish Pearl Necklace!

Many girls dream of being a princess! (If only they knew their dreams were answered… they are princesses!). Well in honor of all the princesses in this world and in honor of the queens they become, I decided to create a piece reminiscent of the royal jewelry collections. And what is more regal than a pearl draped in pearls? It feels opulent. Like one pearl is simply not enough, I must have 39 petite pearls to complement my one pearl. The queen decrees it! So, this is what we did. We started with an 8 mm oval drop pearl and wrapped it in 5 layers of 3mm pearls. The result was a beautiful, opulent pearl fit for a queen!

But as I have lived and worn this new design this past month (I get to test all of the beautiful Pearl Girls designs!), I thought about something else. The night that Cinderella went to the ball. With a little bibbidi-bobbidi-boo, a pumpkin becomes her carriage and, like magic, she is off to join the others at that ball. Now, these days, everyone has their opinions of fairy tales. And I have my opinions, too! And I believe in the joy of dreaming, of wishing, of wanting something to be true. I like to do my own bit of wishing and dreaming, too! And what a joy to imagine we can actually have what we want!

So, with a dose of The Pearl Girls magic, our fairy Godmother created this beautiful piece, the Wish Pearl. We have added it to a sterling silver chain (we can also add it to gold, if you prefer!) and we have also created earrings with the same gorgeous Wish Pearls, too! Lattice Pearl Earrings

I am loving these new lattice pearl earrings, a gorgeous interlaced metal design accented with a medium (7mm) pearl. These were inspired by The Pearl Girls Head of Production, Abby, who loves big and she loves light. And that is exactly what these earrings are. They are big earrings and are so noticeable and cute and yet they feel almost weightless. I invested in this beautiful, hand-cast metal design and Abby worked her magic, adding a pearl and wiring them onto a french hook. The result is just what we were looking for.. a light, contemporary design complimented with a beautiful pop of The Pearl Girls pearls!

The lattice pearl earrings measure almost 2 inches long and 1 inch wide. The lattice work itself measures 1.5″ long and 1″ wide, plus we add a medium (7mm) pearl before the french hook. The metal work is hand-cast in a matte gold plate or matte silver/ rhodium plate. Because of their artistic nature, there can be slight variation in their design.

The french hooks are nickel free sterling silver or 14K gold fill.

I am loving these earrings we have created! I just launched the new Lattice Pearl Earrings, a gorgeous interlaced metal design accented with a medium (7mm) pearl. Now check out these Finer Pearl Earrings! In the same was a sieve will separate the course from the fine, these earrings area distillation of a fine pearl earring design. After we created these, I wore them daily for an added pop of refinement. The gold goes so well with blonde hair warm colors and the silver offers a great pop with dark and cool hair colors. These Finer Pearl Earrings feature a curved disk with dotted holes and a stud post back. We added a large (10mm) cultured pearl. They will certainly step up into the finer category of your earring collection but with a very accessible price tag!

The large curved post measures a little over .75″ in diameter and features a 10mm pearls dangling from the bottom of the post. The metal work is hand-cast in a matte gold plate or matte silver/ rhodium plate. Because of their artistic nature, there can be slight variation in their design.

The posts are not nickel free so please be advised if you have a nickel allergy!

I am loving these earrings we have created! I just launched the new Lattice Pearl Earrings, the Finer Pearl Earrings. Now, see our amazing Pearl Blossom Earrings! Talk about pearls that grow! These amazing interlocking branch designs are bursting with pearls. **Sigh** if only pearls grew on trees! These Pearl Blossom Earrings are popping with a total of six small cultured pearls. They have a nice flow and hang to them making them a very dynamic pearl earring!

We have agreed that these earrings work for a variety of women from the young to the more mature (and young at heart!). They balance playfulness with refinement, ease with grace.

We love that you can choose between a matte gold or matte silver design! The branches are added to a 14k gold fill or sterling silver french hook, which are both nickel free! The branches measure 1.25″ long and, at its widest, .75″ wide. And, of course, they are accented with The Pearl Girls gorgeous cultured pearls!

Foster Love Necklace

The large (9mm) cultured pearls are scattered along a necklace of 3mm faceted rose quartz beads. This natural quartz is known as the gem to open your heart! And we are so excited to open our hearts and wallets to the Foster Care Support Network.

Our Cause

Last month I received an email from the Foster Care Support Foundation about their Prom-A-Palooza event that provides free prom dresses and accessories for teen girls in foster homes and group homes throughout the entire state of Georgia! And I LOVE that these girls have access to dresses and jewelry.

The Foster Care Support Foundation creates this and other events that provide resources to kids of all ages in foster care… 50,000 children in the foster care network in Georgia receive free clothing, toys, school supplies, safe infant care items and mentoring through the Foster Care Support Network. This is something I can get behind! So, I am!

Our Inspiration

We created the Foster Love Necklace this month with the intention of raising money to donate to the Foster Care Support Network. I hope you will LOVE this necklace as much as I do and help us give this month!

35″ of 3mm faceted rose quartz. The rose quartz is a beautiful pale pink. We staggered 7 – large 9mm pearls along the necklace. It is finished with a small, sterling silver spring ring clasp but it easily can go on and off over the head. It is a great piece to layer with! Such a gem of a necklace and a gem of a cause!

Made with love in Athens, GA. I am excited to say I am the very first buyer of this necklace! It is so beautiful and I am so proud that $50 from each necklace will be donated to support children in foster care in Georgia!

BIG Love Necklace – Cultured Pearl Heart – Large Pearls

Judi is at it again! This Valentine’s Day she decided, upon request, to create a Large Pearl Cultured pearl necklace. This necklace features our Large 9mm pearls that we feature in our gorgeous Pearl Stretch Bracelets. And guess who requested this Big Love Necklace? Tara! Our sweet, young Office Manager! As usual, our Pearl Hearts span the ages!

So, what do we have? The same wonderful design and pattern you find in all of our Pearl Hearts but this necklace packs quite a punch! You might want to wear it a bit longer, like a long medallion type of necklace. Or, I prefer to wear it higher on my chest! For this reason we have two length, 18″ and 26″.

We strung the Big Love Necklace on a thicker sterling silver chain!

In case you have not read up on The Pearl Girls Pearl Hearts, here is some more info! I love to tell the story of Judi. Judi is the matriarch of our clan but even in her mid-70s she has an amazing amount of spunk. She is also one of those amazing women with a great story to tell… about everything. Well, when Judi came to us wanting to be a Pearl Girl, she gave it her all. She tried so hard to knot our amazing, high-quality pearl necklaces but she could not perfect her craft well enough for us to approve her to become a regular pearl knotter. It has happened many times before, unfortunately, but we insist on standing behind our quality. But, she wasn’t backing down. If she couldn’t knot pearls for us, she would create some new designs! She finally created her own designs for us to reproduce. The cultured pearl heart is the result of Judi’s commitment to making beautiful jewelry for The Pearl Girls.

Our small and extra small Cultured Pearl Heart have been so successful. And the design is so unique and timeless, I cannot bring myself to retire it! It features gorgeous cultured pearls but they are off-set drilled so they pop along your wrist. Do you love pearls and want a change from the typical Classic Pearl Bracelet? I hear you! I love wearing The Pearl Girls Stretch Pearl Bracelets and I love layered different styles together. Pearls are so gorgeous and wearable and sometimes it is simply fun to switch them up! This is why I created the Scattered Pearl Bracelet. These bracelets feature genuine culture pearls. They are button style, 6-6.5mm in diameter. They are top drilled meaning the pearls do not have a hole directly through the middle, the hole is closer to 1/3 from the top of the pearl. This means the pearls do not lay perfectly flat, giving them a scattered look. Choose your length! We have created these in 7″, 7.5″ and 8″
